TIP #1 | Be yourself AND let your kids be themselves

When it comes to your session, I want you and your family to be as comfortable as possible. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. One way to do this is to focus on you and your family. Make sure to interact with each other and smile, and have fun. Forget that I’m there. Forget about the camera. This time is for you and your family. This brings me to tip number 2…

TIP #2 | View the session as an activity for you and your family

Yes, you are here to get your photos taken, and we will take the time to get you smiling to the camera, but I want to capture more than that. I’ll capture the sweet looks you give each other. The silly smiles. The heartfelt embrace. I’ll capture you as you are with your loved ones. View your photo session as a fun activity you and your family get to do together!

TIP #3 | Let go of control

For some, a photoshoot can quickly become stressful, especially when you are concerned about your kiddos and how they will behave at the session. My recommendation…

take a deep breath and let the session unfold. I’m here to capture you and your family in your element. If your little one isn’t cooperating, we will move on and let them run the session. I’ve

had plenty of sessions where kids cried and would not smile for me, which is entirely ok! Read the review to get a mama's perspective.

TIP #4 | Wear what makes you feel confident

There is so much out there about what to wear to a photoshoot, but let me break it down for you. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. You are booking a photoshoot to show who you are; clothing is a critical factor in showcasing that! A helpful tool I like to recommend when putting outfits together is Pinterest. I'm also always available to chat!

TIP #5 | Bring props to your session

Props not only show off who you are, but they are a great way to make you feel comfortable while getting your photo taken. Why? It gives you something to interact with. Props could be anything from a piece of furniture to a pair of sunglasses. Here at Beestone, I offer a prop closet, so if you are stuck on what to bring, I can help! I offer blankets, a wagon, books, an antique chair, and more!
